Default Do you need a PDA to use the PODFather?

The short answer is Yes, you do need a PDA to use PODFather, but the reason that we've chosen the PODFather is because their software is some of the easiest and most compatible available for POD.

You need a compatible phone or Personal Data Assistant (PDA) to use The PODFather, with the following specification:
  • Windows Mobile 5 or 6
  • GSM/GPRS/3G data connectivity
  • Integrated touchscreen
  • Integrated camera (if you want to take pictures of completed jobs)
We will be posting here all sorts of different offers and products, some with contracts (O2) and special offers on PDAs that can be bought outright for less than £100 and have no contract.

And remember, that you can use this on all your jobs, not just your boxby jobs.

Send a message via Skype™ to Watford Courier Company
Default

This Is a great addition Sandra, I have already spoken to the guys at Podfather aboput the service in a bit more detail and this will be a huge benefit for us in certain circumstances where manual POD`s just arn`t good enough anymore.
It would also make allocating jobs to the drivers a lot easier without the need for the bike riders stopping, dismounting, answering mobile phone, writing down address etc etc.

Default Ebay needs Online Trackable PODs

One of the factors that pushed us towards this was a story from a courier about an ebay job. The courier had delivered the item to the customer, and had a manual POD. The buyer (who was a bit dishonest!) claimed to ebay that they had never received the item.

The ebay seller, the courier's customer, had been left exposed because unless ebay sellers send things on a delivery system that has an ONLINE TRACKABLE POD, then they lose the benefit of the ebay and paypal sellers protection.

The courier had done nothing wrong, they had delivered to the correct address, to the correct person, and even had a manual POD, but for this modern day it was insufficient. But the seller couldn't provide an online tracking POD, and ebay forced through a refund.

Ebay sellers make up a large proportion of the small businesses using courier and delivery companies. They are very representative, and they tend to be a group that will find very weakness in any system. If we meet the needs of the ebay users, we'll meet everyone else's needs too.
